PET VACCINATIONS
Getting your pet vaccinated is one of the best things you can do.
Health and Happiness
A huge part of being a good pet owner is taking steps to ensure your companion’s long-term health and happiness. In terms of preventative healthcare, having your pet vaccinated is one of the best and most responsible things that you can do for them. By stimulating the immune system, pet vaccinations protect companion animals against a wide range of potentially devastating viral and bacterial diseases.
If your dog or cat requires pet vaccinations, ABC Veterinary Clinic of Lewisville has you covered. We provide core and lifestyle vaccines to ensure that the pets in our community are protected against several common diseases.
Vaccines for Dogs and Cats
Under Texas law, all dogs and cats must be vaccinated against rabies by the time they reach four months of age. While that is the only vaccine required by law, it certainly is not the only one that we recommend.
We offer core vaccines like DAPP to protect dogs against deadly diseases like distemper, hepatitis, and parvovirus. FVRCP protects cats against Feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, and panleukopenia.
Safe & Healthy Pets
As a pet parent, keeping your companion safe and healthy is likely one of your primary concerns. One of the best ways to do that is to keep them up-to-date on their pet vaccines. Having your cat or dog vaccinated protects them against several devastating – potentially even deadly – diseases.
Core Pet Vaccines
Lifestyle Pet Vaccines
Lifestyle pet vaccines are offered in addition to core vaccines based on things like your pet’s breed, size, age, travel frequency, health history, and general exposure risk. If, for example, your pet regularly spends time around other animals, we may recommend the Bordetella vaccine to protect them against kennel cough. We strongly recommend the leptospirosis vaccine, as well, which protects pets against potentially deadly zoonotic bacteria that may be present in soil, standing water, or the urine of an infected animal. We may also recommend vaccinating your dog against Lyme disease if you spend a lot of time in the woods or vaccinating your cat against leukemia if they spend time outdoors and come in contact with other cats. Revaccinating annually may be warranted to maintain the best immunity. We will discuss this with you when we administer the initial vaccine.
