Dental Care

Dental 1 300x225 Dental CareWe understand that many people are skeptical about cleaning their pet’s teeth, and how dental disease can affect the overall health of their pet.  Even though they smell the bad breath, and see the amount of tartar on their pet’s teeth, most people are still skeptical.

Here are some facts obtained from the American Society of Veterinary Dental Technicians that will help drive the importance home:

-70% of all pets have dental disease after 3 years of age

-85% of all pets have periodontal disease after 5 years of age

-Dental disease is the #1 cause of premature death in pets.

-Bacteria from the mouth can enter the bloodstream and cause disease of the heart, kidneys,    and liver.

In most pets, it is recommended to perform a dental cleaning annually, although some pets require one twice yearly.
